Inflight Services stole the limelight yesterday at
SilkAir's 20th Anniversary Dinner & Dance. I was dressed up as a Samurai and together with
Chris in his commoner Emperor's robe, Mohd the Arabian King, Jasmine the Punjab lady and Azura the Thai Princess, we arrived in style at
Meritus Mandarin. When the elevator's door open at the 6th floor, all eyes were on us either in awe or disbelief. We were dressed up according to the theme for the night which was Asian Costumes, and those who were gawking at us were mostly dressed in boring shirts and dresses,
*yawn*
The hunt for costumes began early this month. We could have just wore what we have in our closet or borrow from other colleagues. But it will be very common and wont make much of an impact. First round of costume hunting at PA WearHouse did not produce any positve result. They were scheduled to close a few days before our D & D to prepare for relocation. Then a week before the event, I went to recce for costumes with Lynn, Stella and Jenn at Bugis area. We didn't even had to compare between different shops as I settled for my Samurai costume at the very first shop we went to, called
Masquerade at Bali Lane. I told the rest first thing when I went back to work on Monday, and we immediately made a trip during lunch. For $50, it's quite worth the money, as it comes complete with accesories and footwear, and headgears too. The staff was very warm and friendly, rendered superb service. . .
highly recommended.
I was quite surprised to be crowned the
Best Dressed Male as I thought Mohd will definitely win it with his over the top headgear. Good thing all the 3 guys were on stage, being finalist for the Best Dressed award. Our table also swept away the
Best Dressed Table prize. The winner for
Best Dressed Female was my Japanese maiden, Karen Foley. The Japs invasion!

Kumar entertained the guests with his (or her) lewd jokes, coupled along with anti-govt pun. People sure enjoy listening to such topics.
This could be the last time for me being together in such occasion with Inflight Services. Earlier in the day, my boss informed me of SM intention to transfer me to Ground Services. Though I will have more opportunities there, the environment won't ever be the same as my current department which I adores very much.
