The dance battle was awesome though. The final was a face off between a group of 'alternatives' who call themselves the Pink Dollar (very apt indeed), and the crap Poppers. Pink Dollar was definitely the crowd fave, the way they groove will both sides of the gender to shame. They fused their B-Boy moves with a tinge of bitchiness. It was not just typical slutty sashaying and gyrating which I thought they will display when I saw them coming on stage.
The Poppers' style was just... popping moves throughout.
*Surprise, surprise*
Their routine was so dead boring and we wondered how did they even got through to the face off.

But no complaints, it was free, thanks to Eliza for inviting me, Jenn and Lays. Although it pales in comparison to ZoukOut, the effort to organise City Alive is commendable. Given time, it may just be a must-go event in the coming years. A friendly advice to those contact lens users - never forget your lens kit. You may never knew when you need it, lest someone (your own friend) gets too excited and poked your eyes causing your lens to drop off. I will never have guessed I need my kit so badly yesterday til it happened to me. Usually I will bring it when I am out of the house. A classic example of "Having it when I don't need it, and not having it when I needed it the most." Luckily I manage to regain my eyesight, after using some ice from Jenn's free drink to moisten the lens and place it back on my cornea.

It was post LNY dinner before that. Apologies to Jef, HL, Lynn and Stella for not being able to join me to City Alive. Blame Eliza for having only 4 tickets. Anyway they didn't miss much.
Today I had lunch with Daniel, who was back in town for his study break. The fake Aussie was craving for some thosai so we had it for lunch at Tekka. He is enjoying his life down under so much that he may just stay there for good after he graduates in a few months. But well, everything is filled with uncertainty now given the current crisis. If he's lucky enough and able to secure a good life there, good for him. Else Mindef will be more than happy to assign him a unit when he comes back.
